Homeschooling FAQ

Is Heldenschool suitable for homeschooling?

Yes. The kindergarten app follows the Flemish kindergarten learning goals and the primary-school apps follow the minimum goals for primary education (both version 2.0), with the goal number on every game. That gives you a structured learning path from kindergarten to 6th grade for Dutch, maths, French, science, geography and history.

Do I get help and support with homeschooling?

Yes. We help you get started personally: installing the app on your devices, setting the learning path and level for each child, and answering your questions along the way, via WhatsApp or email.

What age is the app for?

From 5 to 12. There are four apps: the kindergarten app for the final year of kindergarten and one app per stage of primary school (grades 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6). Every child has one account for all the apps, and you choose the school year in the admin panel.

Can I see what my child has learned?

Yes. After every session you get a report by email, and the parent panel shows the level per game plus a log of what was played.

Does the app work without internet?

Yes. Install it once on a tablet, phone or PC and it works offline too: ideal for homeschooling on the road.

In Flanders French is compulsory in 5th and 6th grade, and many schools already start in 3rd grade. Heldenschool follows exactly that path: a playful introduction in grades 3 and 4, and the full compulsory A1 syllabus in grades 5 and 6. Every word is spoken in a natural French voice, and in Say it back the app listens to the pronunciation.
